Young Peacebuilders Clubs

A Young Peacebuilders Club (YPC) is simply a group of young people who decide to work together to build a more peaceful reality around them. YPCs are student-led and adult supported. They nurture the peacebuilding passion and skills in young people.

YPC students work together to discover violence, inequality, and neglect, and then support one another while creating projects that wage peace locally and around the world. YPC students continually increase their capacity to design, deliver, and evaluate peacebuilding projects of increasing scope and impact.

The YPC Process

The YPC cycle repeats the 4 stages below. Child and youth leadership is supported in each stage.

YPCs are flexible to help groups easily contextualize the process. Meeting frequency, content depth, and project complexity adjust to fit the needs of each YPC. We provide a clear training process and supportive tools. However, YPC Members are free to use training resources in ways that best fit the unique needs of your young people, organization and context.

YPC Roles

Young Peacebuilders (YP) provides the tools and services that help others equip young people as effective and passionate peacebuilders. YP supports collaborations between YPCs globally. YP also conducts research and shares success stories to help continually improve YPCs.

All club members commit themselves to learning to work together to better wage peace. Everyone has something to offer and something to learn. Members offer their ideas, questions, energy, dedication, listening ears, and open hearts. Members commit to learning to improve themselves, the community, and the world.

YPC Annual Project Theme

2021-2022

Peacebuilding and Youth Participation will explore how we can support the meaningful inclusion of youth in peace processes and humanitarian action as set out by the UN Security Council Resolution 2535, the most action-oriented resolution on youth, peace, and security! We will also encourage our YPCs to identify how they may support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16 which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development.
